How To Get Rid Of Stains Without Ruining Your Clothes, Like Never

You have on the best dress you have ever worn in your entire life. You are on the perfect date. Then the worst thing happens. You scream the F word all over the restaurant. What happened? You spilt spaghetti sauce all over your dress, again! You beautiful, glamorous klutz! Now you have a red stain on your one-of-a-kind dress that smells like garlic now. You know what to do next, right? No, not run to the bathroom and hide from embarrassment. You ask for some club soda to help get the stain out without ruining your dress. Did you know that wiping a stain clean with a napkin or not at all can do a lot of damage to your clothes? It can even ruin it. Here are some ways to get rid of stains without ruining your clothes or any of the clothes you “borrow” from your friend’s closet. Don’t Cry Just Dry – By battling the stain as soon as it happens is half the battle. If you normally dry clean the item that has been stained then take it to the cleaners as soon as possible. Attack From The Back – Instead of cleaning the stain from the front of the garment, clean it from the back of the fabric. It keeps the stain from penetrating further into the garment. Follow Directions – Read stain removal instructions before you use it on your favorite shirt. Remember that destruction comes from not reading directions. Condiment Mess – Use a laundry bar soap and some elbow grease to get the stain out. If the BBQ, ketchup, mustard, or A1 steak sauce stain does not come out then just cut the stain out and patch up the garment (only works well for jeans). Make Sure – Before you dry an article of clothing make sure that the stain is gone. Why? It will set if you dry it with the stain on it because drying it sets the stain. Tea Bag It – Say you accidently spill coffee on your favorite white blouse. The stain sets because you forgot to clean it on time. Boil a liter of hot water and soak 10 tea bags in it. Remove the tea bags. Put the blouse in it and let it soak for 25 to 30 minutes. Rinse and wash. After it is has dried you will notice that the stain is gone and you have a new shirt. Don’t Whine Over Red Wine – Spilt red wine on your clothes? Then immediately spill white wine over it. The white wine will neutralize it. No white wine in sight? Then use...

Fingernail Tips To Live By (I Literally Nailed This One!)

Fingernails are like humans. They come in many different shapes and styles. Some are round, curved, or square. Some are claw like and even fake. There are many people out there that spend so much money on manicures that it is ridiculous. Of course, I would not be saying that if my job was a manicurist. Just like there are rules you should follow in life, beauty, and at work; there are rules that you should follow in the nail world. One: Don’t speak about Nail World. Two: Speak and you will get nailed. Oh, snap! Here are some tips to keep your finger nails looking immaculate. Your nail’s best friend is a four-sided nail filer. You can buff, shine, file, and exfoliate with one tool. You save money. Soak them in water with a teaspoon of vinegar to soften the nail and get rid of any dead skin cells. Only for five minutes. Invest in a hand scrub. The best is from Bath & Body Works. It is called, Just A Minute. All you need to do is rub in the sugar scrub on any of the rough parts of your hands including the cuticles for 60 seconds. Rinse and you will have amazing soft, smooth hands. The smell is to die for. It smells like sweet citrus. Keep them away from your mouth. Stop biting them. A good way to stop that habit is to dip your hands in tabasco sauce every time you feel like biting them. Trust me you will not get the urge to bite your nails anymore. Moisturize daily with Shea butter to keep them from getting brittle and cracking. The Shea butter locks moisture in the nails and cuticles to keep them stronger. Do not use your nails as if they were tools. They are there to protect your fingers. Keep them short. Acetone is not a friend you want to have around your nails. Constant use of acetone can dry your nails and damage them. Also keep them away from acidic cleaners like citrus dish detergent. No that does not mean you do not have to wash the dishes. No mam. That is why gloves were invented. Do not buy cheap nail polish. Why? If it starts to chip away you are more likely to paint them again. Do you know what happens when you use too much nail polish on your nails? You get a crack right down the middle. Polish dries the nail up if you keep on painting them different colors every day. Put a coat of nail hardener the day before you paint your nails for added...

5 At-Home Hair Remedies For Your Messed Up Hair

Hair treatments at a salon can cost you a mortgage, car, dinner for a week, and a lollipop. It is the day of do it yourself or as I like to called it The D.I.Y. Movement. You can easily take care of your messed up hair right at home. I know some of you would just like to put a beanie hat on and go on like your hair is all put together. Well, do not get in front of me because I will snatch it right off. Others of you will just say, “It ain’t nothing but a hair flip,” and walk right into the nearest salon. I would say to that, “Good for you.” For those of us who cannot afford to pay the gas bill this month…read below. Here are some easy hair remedies you can make in the comfort of your own home. Banana For One: All you need is one banana. Smash it up and smear it on your hair. You want to start at the roots and make your way down each strand of hair. Leave it in for fifteen minutes. Rinse it out with lukewarm water. Voila! You should have silky smooth hair and no more dry, damaged hair. If you do not, then you ate the banana. Do this every three days. Free Remedy: This remedy is so simple and free. It is a mixture of exercise and water. Blood flow is great in strengthening hair. Drinking plenty of water will help bring some shine to your dry, dull hair. Do this whenever the hell you want. Olive Oil Massage: Take five tablespoons of olive oil (extra virgin if it is your hair’s first time) (light if it is on a diet). Massage it into your scalp. Then apply it to your hair. Leave in for thirty minutes. Use the excess oil to moisturize your dry skin. After 30 minutes, rinse and dab dry. Why do this? It will keep your hair strong and prevent breakage. Do this once a week. Vitamin E Oil Wrap: No you do not eat this. You massage Vitamin E oil onto your scalp. Wrap it in a hot towel for thirty minutes. It will stimulate the scalp and increase blood flow which helps with hair growth. Plus leaving it in overnight will give a shine to your hair and reduce dandruff. Do this once a week. Cornstarch Shake: Again you do not drink this. You take a one tablespoon of cornstarch and put it into an empty salt shaker. Sprinkle it all over your hair. Make sure your hair is not wet. Wait ten minutes....

Not You Again: Period Survival 101

The curse, that time, monthlies, menses, Aunt Flo, Mr. Monthly Visitor … these are just some of the ways women describe their menstrual cycle. But regardless of what you call it, the symptoms and discomfort are always the same every month. Soon the people around you notice you going from Miss Congeniality to super bitch. But that’s their problem not yours. You need to concentrate on how you’re going to survive the symptoms. After all, menopause is still years, if not decades away and you deserve relief now! Great complexion is one of women’s greatest assets but when the menses strike, our hormones go all out of whack. And soon enough we’re producing more testosterone than a 13 year old boy. This causes your skin to produce excess oil, causing period acne. The best way to cope with it is by buying acne fighting products like face wash that unclogs pores and cleanses the skin of excess oil. While these won’t completely solve the issue, it will definitely keep it under control until Mr. Monthly goes away. If all else fails you can always buy a concealer or a blemish stick to make the zits a little less obvious. If you suffer from heavy bleeding you need to first understand why it happens and how long you can expect it to last. The fact is that it often happens at the beginning of your menstrual cycle when the lining of the uterine wall starts to shed. I know! Ouch! On some occasions it can happen during the middle of your cycle. It’s annoying because you start to feel like an 80 year old that constantly needs to check herself. Leakage is at times unavoidable and we have to accept that. So you should stock up on lots of pads and tampons because you will need it. If you’re on your feet for long periods of time, wear dark colors in case you leak. This way your friends, co-workers, or the general passerby will not see what’s happening to you. Bring an extra pair of jeans just in case you need to change too. Also, bathe often because with heavy period comes the stench of blood, which can ruin your social life almost as badly as a bad attitude. Now the next time someone accuses you of being a bitch tell them to chill because the bloating and the pain is going to make your cranky. Add to that the hormone imbalance which forces you to retain fluid and you’ll be dealing with discomfort that will last for days along with your bad mood. So how can you reduce all...

9 Sizzling Winter Hot Date Ideas To Add Some Steam Into Your Life

During the winter the only person we want to go on a hot date with is our bed. It is so warm and cuddly. The only thing is that you might miss out on some awesome dates if you stay home. Even though it is cold outside it does not mean that you cannot have a wonderful hot date. There are many great first date ideas that can turn any cold night into a hot date to remember.     Here are some that you can try out.  Winter Picnic – The great thing about a winter picnic is that you get to drink warm apple cider, eat homemade snacks, cookies and get to cuddle with your date under a lantern lit night. Plus you will be in a tent. Do not close the tent flap so it does not give him/her mixed signals. Fondue Date for Two – Ask for a table by the fireplace to make it romantic. Dip tasty food into cheese and then later have dessert with chocolate fondue. Feed your date a chocolate covered strawberry to make them feel special. Skate into their Heart – Not literally of course. Go ice-skating and hold each other’s hand. Carriage Ride – A romantic carriage ride in the snow is spectacular. Bring some nice warm cocoa and a blanket. Enjoy one another’s company. The Art in Love – All you need is some spray bottles. Fill them with water and some food coloring. Go outside, bundled up of course, and paint the snow. Make something beautiful together. Take a picture to remember the moment. Cuddle Date – Put on a nice movie, pop some popcorn, get some hot cocoa with marshmallows, and enjoy a nice date that can sizzle at any moment. Who doesn’t love this combo? Balls in the Face – Yes it sounds sexual but get your dirty minds cleaned. Go outside and have a snowball fight. It is a great way to have fun. Plus you get to help each other undress when you get back inside. Gateways to Paradise – If you cannot afford a nice trip to an island then do the next best thing. Turn your bedroom into an island getaway. Go to a party store and get all the supplies you need. Then make sure you have your bathing suit on when he/she walks through the door. Do not forget the Strawberry Daiquiris. Flashback Love Date – Make a list of all of your favorite places to eat and have them get one thing from each place. Then have the last location be you at the house. Enjoy a buffet...
